Pisa is prov. of Tuscany (39 communes; 2448 km2s; 385.445 abs. according to a 2000 respect; capol. Pisa). It leans out to W to the sea and it is limited from the provs. of Lucca, Florence, Siena, Grosseto and Livorno. The principal river is the Arno, that crosses the alone territory with its terminal line from Saint Cross on the Arno to the mouth. To this last great river it renders from left the era, that goes down from the Hills Metallifere, while the f. Cecina crosses the provincial territory directly directing himself/herself/itself to the sea.
The structure of the economy pisana is well balanced in his various components, with a certain prevalence of the industry, to which an efficient agriculture and a suitable distributive framework are placed side by side. Agriculture gives cereals, vegetables, fruit, tobacco and sugar beets in the level areas, wine grape and olives in those hilly: in industrial field the sectors more developed are those vetrarios, mechanic, chemical, to feed, calzaturiero, of the attire, conciario, of the ceramics and of the housebuilding, this last spread some everywhere for the increase of the residences and coadiuvato from a good number of factories of tiles.
