Villa Elena is located on a hill, 200 meters from the center of Guardistallo, a small medieval village on the Wine Road, 10 km from the sea.

We are in the center of the Etruscan Coast, that part of Tuscany that extends from Livorno to Piombino between beaches, cliffs and pine forests, and that includes a hilly hinterland enriched by characteristic villages, including the historic Volterra, the most important Etruscan city in Italy.

Volterra (30 km) Etruscan town, famous for its alabaster, Roman theatre and medieval festivals.

Massa Marittima (70 km) a "little Siena", renowned for the review of summer events.

Castiglioncello (15 km), a small village overlooking the sea, frequented by VIPs and very lively, especially in the evening. A lush promenade joins it to Cala de Medici, one of the most beautiful ports in Tuscany, with luxury boats, exclusive shops and summer events.
San Vincenzo (35 km): seaside town known for its shopping and harbour.
Isola Elba and the other islands of Tuscany (Capraia, Gorgona, Pianosa and Giglio) can be visited with an excursion from morning to evening embarking at Piombino.



Parks and outdoor sports


Thermal centres with natural hot water lakes and wellness centres: in Marina di Castagneto Carducci (30 km), Casciana Terme (42 km) and Venturina (il Calidario, 45 km).
The parks of the Etruscan Coast include the mining parks of Campiglia (40 km), the natural and archaeological parks (Etruscan necropolis) of Baratti and Populonia (60 km), the only Etruscan town by the sea.
Lovers of walking and running can visit the Tomboli: the pine forests (biogenetic reserves) along the coast. There are many beaches where you can practice water sports: sailing, surfing, diving.
The Macchia della Magona park, near Bibbona (12 km) is the ideal place for hiking and mountain biking lovers. Road bike enthusiasts can train on the routes marked out by Paolo Bettini, former world and Olympic champion who lives in the area.
In the vicinity of Villa Elena there are some centers where you can practice golf (Tirrenia, San Miniato, Gavorrano, and Follonica and Punta Ala).
If you love horseback riding, you can visit the local riding schools, which organize horseback rides in the woods and pine forests.
Then there are amusement parks for children: the Crazy Horse in Marina di Donoratico (16 km), the Peccioli Prehistoric Park (40 km), the Pinocchio Park in Collodi (90 km), the Acqua Village in Cecina Mare (12 km), the Gallorose Park in Cecina (10 km), an unmissable exhibition of domestic and exotic animals open from dawn to dusk.
Those who love nature and adrenaline can try the adventure park 'Il Giardino Sospeso' in Riparbella, 10 km away, and spend a day in the woods, enjoying the acrobatic paths on the trees.



Food and wine: an embarrassment of choice for traditional Tuscan cuisine


The food and wine deserves a separate chapter: in the area there are high-level restaurants and an endless series of wine bars, pizzerias, taverns and taverns where you can taste the typical dishes of the fabulous Tuscan cuisine: bruschetta, crostini, meats, vegetables, soups, pappardelle with wild boar (the typical dish par excellence), tortelli, Florentine steak and grilled meat, desserts.
Wine lovers are also spoilt for choice since the area, thanks mainly to Bolgheri, is one of the most important in the world for the production of quality wines.
